VARO directly and indirectly owns and operates over 300 physical assets in North West Europe, consisting of two refineries, 80% of a biogas production plant, a broad network of fuel and biofuel storage terminals with a total capacity of 2.3 million cbm and a distribution network containing wholesale, bunkering and retail service stations. In this role you provide broad legal support to different business departments. You are responsible for general legal advice, as well as reviewing and drafting commercial contracts while making sure new businesses in the areas of the energy transition will be implemented. You advise on VARO’s high ESG standards and manage external counsel for specialized legal matters. In this position you add value to VARO’s active role to the energy transition.
Profile
- qualified Dutch, Belgian or German lawyer or inhouse counsel
- with around 3-6 years of experience
- broad knowledge of commercial law
- genuine interest in or experience with either energy law, transport law, or international trading
- business minded and great communication skills
- fluent in Dutch and English
