European Central Counterparty N.V. (EuroCCP) is a central counterparty providing post-trade clearing services to stock exchanges, multilateral trading facilities (MTFs) and other trading platforms. EuroCCP is part of the global exchange group Cboe Global Markets Inc. (CBOE). With offices in Amsterdam (HQ) and London, EuroCCP services over 40 stock exchanges and trading venues and clears equity securities from 18 European markets as well as equity derivatives. The company was formed in 2013 and has just under 100 employees. In this very dynamic yet fast-growing organization with an international and progressive culture, collaboration and teamwork are valued. EuroCCP is under supervision of the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and the Authority for Financial Markets (AFM). The Legal and Compliance Department is made up of six professionals, three lawyers and three compliance professionals in Amsterdam and in London. To further strengthen this department in Amsterdam due to growing business, we are seeking a new team member.

As a legal counsel you will provide legal services and advise all departments of the organization on contractual matters in the fields of clearing, settlement, securities law and market infrastructure regulations such as the EMIR, Dutch Financial Supervision Act (Wft), Financial Collateral Directive and Settlement Finality Directive. You work closely with your other legal and compliance colleagues, the business and other stakeholders. Being part of this team of lawyers and compliance professionals, you will be able to develop yourself thoroughly in the next phase of your legal career.
Profile
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a lawyer
- in an international law firm and/or in the financial sector
- experience with financial legal matters or a keen interest or ambition to develop in this field
- effective and professional communication and servicing skills towards the business
- a vibrant and engaging personality with strong interpersonal skills
- fluent in English and/or Dutch
