VARO refines, stores and distributes (bio)fuels for the European market and has been a major player in the area of blending and trading sustainable biofuels for more than 10 years. VARO has an ambitious strategy to become a leading player in the European energy transition. It has numerous international projects, inter alia in the areas of hydrogen, biogas, electricity, carbon trading and renewable and sustainable biofuels. The company intends to grow high speed in the coming years. In order to further strengthen the legal team, we are seeking to recruit a new team member.
Commercial Legal Counsel
based in Rotterdam, Hamburg or Zug

As Commercial Legal Counsel you provide (commercial) legal support to different business departments such as Trading and Sales and Logistics. You are responsible for reviewing and drafting commercial contracts while making sure new businesses in the areas of the energy transition will be implemented. You manage external counsel for specialized legal matters. In this role you will add value to VARO’s contribution to the energy transition.
Profile
- qualified Dutch or European lawyer or inhouse counsel
- with around 4-7 years of experience
- substantial knowledge of and experience with commercial contract law
- ambitious self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
- great communication skills
- fluent in English
